murmweb.dev is the sole proprietorship of Marius Kerkvliet in Leiden, the Netherlands. I design and build websites, web shops, apps and browser extensions myself, from the first design to launch. Five questions for any web designer.
Whichever web designer in Leiden you pick, these five questions deserve a clear answer before you sign. These are mine.
Is the price fixed, or an estimate?
Fixed. You get one number, agreed in writing before I start, and that is the number on the invoice. I do not bill by the hour, so working longer costs me time, not you money.
When will it be finished?
The finish date is in the same written quote as the price. One to two weeks for a website, two to three for a web shop, three to five for a browser extension, three to six for an app.
Who does the work?
I do, from design to launch. You always talk to me. No handovers, no middlemen.
Who owns the site afterwards?
You do. The domain and the hosting are in your name, so you are never tied to me. If you want me to keep the technical side safe and up to date, that costs a small fixed amount per month and you can stop any month. If you leave, I hand everything over free of charge.
How and when do you pay?
Half when we start, half when it goes live, and you have fourteen days for each invoice. If you decide to stop halfway, you pay only for the part that is finished and you keep everything I have made so far.
